Important Ingredients For Frozen Fries In Air Fryer
Although you only need the bag of frozen fries, additional 2 or 3 simple ingredients make the fries a thousand times better.
- Frozen French Fries: you can use any kind or type of fries, whether curly or crinkle: or even sweet potato fries and many more.
- Salt: as I love salted fries, I have sprinkled some salt on top. But if you guys love the OG way, then this is optional.
- Oil: to make the fries more crispy, I have brushed some oil as well; you can also use cooking spray if you have it. You can even use olive oil or canola oil if you don’t want to use vegetable oil.
- Garlic Powder: I LOVE garlic powder in French fries. You can also replace this with any other seasoning, like peri powder or lemon salt.
How To Make Frozen French Fries In Air Fryer
Making frozen fries in an air fryer is as simple as boiling water. And the plus point is that it cooks faster than an oven and is a lot crispier.
Preparation: Preheat the air fry to 200C for 5 minutes.
Put Fries In Air Fryer: Place the frozen fries in the air fryer basket. It’s okay if they are on top of each other a bit. But don’t fill it till the top, and ensure it’s not more than 1/2 full.
Oil and Season: Brush with a little amount of oil. Use a pastry brush if you want. Now sprinkle salt and garlic powder or any seasoning of your choice. You can skip this part.
Bake: cook the fries at 200C for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, take out the basket and shake it a little. Bake again for 5-6 minutes or until you get the desired crispness that you want. Serve with your favorite ketchup or sauce.
Chef’s Tips For Making Frozen Fries In Air Fryer
Tip For Even Baking
Shake the basket to get evenly cooked fries. Don’t overfill the basket, as this might lead to uneven cooking. Just fill it till it’s half full.
Tip For Crispy Fries
Use oil to get crisper fries. Also, cooking time may vary slightly from air fryer to air fryer and the thickness of your fries. So it is better to look at the fries and adjust the cooking time as needed.
Season Fries Just Before Cooking
Add salt and seasoning just before starting the air fryer. Because if you add salt and seasoning early, it will draw out moisture, leading to uneven cooking of the fries.
Serving Ideas
Bring out all the sauce that you have stored in your pantry.
Ketchup: Ketchup and mayo sauce: just mix both of them together. I like to add in some red chili powder and some coarsely chopped coriander.
Rancho dressing, Chipotle mayo or any cheese sauce; they all go well as dips.
