Air Fryer Chicken Burgers

Want a quick meal with no mess? These air fryer burgers are just the dish you need. Juicy, delicious, and ready in a few minutes, you can grab this meal whenever you are in a hurry.

I love juicy burgers loaded with patties, cheese, and veggies. They are perfect to fill your stomach and heart, too! However, they can take several minutes to assemble. The main work is needed for preparing the patties. You’ll need to prep the meat you want like chicken or beef, add seasoning to it, shape it and then cook it. And then comes the assembly part. Sometimes, this can be a mess, especially if you are in a rush.

For that reason, I’ve got a quick air fryer recipe, which will take just 10 minutes to make your burger. All you need to do is cook the frozen chicken patties and then assemble the burger. How simple isn’t it? This method is for the ones who need a quick bit. Those who have time can even prepare their own patties and cook them in the air fryer. I also have an air fryer turkey burger recipe available on the blog for anyone who likes turkey instead of chicken.

How Does An Air Fryer Works?

An air fryer is a mini convection oven on your countertop. An Air fryer has a heating element that circulates hot air through a fan around your food, which requires no oil for cooking. This makes the food crispy on the outside and juicy and moist on the inside.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe?

  • Fast: In a world where everyone is rushing, sometimes you need food that is quick, too. An air fryer is a great piece of equipment to do fast cooking with all flavors intact. Can you believe you can make this burger in 10 minutes? It’s that quick.
  • Healthy: Since the parties are air-fried, there is no oil used to fry them. Even when you shallow fry instead of deep fry the patties, you would still use oil, which isn’t healthy. Using an air fryer will help eliminate that oil and make your burger a superior one.
  • Delicious: Don’t worry if you aren’t frying your patties for the burger. The juiciness and taste will not be compromised using an air fryer. Your burger will still be as delicious as it would if made using the conventional method.

Important Ingredients Used In The Recipe

  • Frozen Chicken Patties: Since this is a quick recipe for a burger, it would be better to use frozen patties instead of making one yourself. This will save a lot of that precious time, and you will still get juicy patties ready for your burger.
  • Veggies: The basic veggies you can use for your burger in a rush would be lettuce, tomatoes, and onion. You easily slice and prep them while the patties are cooking.
  • Cheese: I prefer my burger a bit cheesy, so I have added cheese spread and cheese slices. You can always add any other spread you like.

How To Make Air Fryer Chicken Burgers

Preparation: Collect all ingredients required to make the burger. Preheat the air fryer to 180C for 2-3 minutes. Prep your veggies as well. Slice tomatoes and onion (you can even do this while patties cook).

Cook Patties: Place the frozen chicken patties in the air fryer and cook them for 10 minutes at 180C. Flip the patties midway to cook both sides.

Prepare the Buns: As the patties are cookies, you can prepare the buns. Spread cheese spread on the bottom half of the bun. Place lettuce followed by tomato and onion slices.

Assemble the burger: Once the patties are ready, place them on the prepped bun and top it with a cheese slice. Cover the burger with the other half.

Chef’s Tips For The Recipe

Avoid Over Cooking

Cook the patties for the recommended time or otherwise, what’s mentioned on the frozen patties packet. Overcooking the patties would lead to a burned taste and chewy texture. The patties won’t be juicy.

Variations

You can add any other spread or vegetable that you like. For example, you can add barbeque sauce and jalapeños for a more spicy flavor.

Do not Over Fill The Air Fryer

Do not place chicken patties one over the other and overcrowd the air fryer basket. Overfilling will not cook the patties appropriately.

Prevent Patties Sticking To Basket

Line your air fryer basket with butter paper to avoid the patties from sticking to the bottom.

How To Store Air Fryer Burger

It is recommended to cook and assemble the burgers immediately after cooking the patties. I wouldn’t recommend storing cooked patties or assembled burgers for later use, as they would not taste good.
