Delicious Peanut Butter Frosting Recipe

Is peanut butter your favorite? Then I have got just the right recipe for you! Introducing Peanut Butter Frosting that can be easily piped and paired with your favorite cupcakes, cakes, or desserts.

If you have noticed, I have recently been adding many frosting recipes. Although I have paired desserts with the best toppings and frostings yet, however, I wanted to give you more choices so that you can experiment with different flavor combinations. So you will see quite a few recipes for frostings in the coming days.

Today I have a special one for you-peanut butter frosting. It’s creamy, smooth, and has a perfect consistency for piping. The sweet and salty flavor is unique and great for those who aren’t a fan of overly sweet frostings.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe?

  • Something Different: Peanut butter is not a flavor you hear when it comes to frostings. But honestly, this one is worth giving a shot! It pairs well with chocolate and caramel. So next time you have chocolate cupcakes or cake, pair them with peanut butter frosting.
  • Pipeable: it becomes difficult to frost a dessert when the frostings have loose consistency. However, the peanut butter frosting has a perfect pipeable consistency, which is excellent for making swirls on cupcakes or any cake border design.
  • The Unique Flavour: The sweet and salty flavor really complements each other. Someone who is an ardent fan of peanut butter will enjoy this frosting on their favorite desserts or just eat a spoonful of it.

Important Ingredients Used In The Recipe

  • Peanut Butter: Both creamy and chunky peanut butter can be used for the frosting. However, the chunky one is preferred when you are using it just as a filling rather than for piping design. The chunks will hinder the piping fluency. So for that reason, use a creamy one when you have to pipe design as well.
  • Unsalted Butter: Unsalted butter is used and preferred over salted butter in frostings, as that way, you can adjust the salt content. Since peanut butter already has salt in it and we are adding a bit of extra salt as well, you must use softened unsalted butter.
  • Milk: Adding milk to the frosting provides the perfect consistency. It makes the butter more smooth and spreadable.

How To Make Peanut Butter Frosting

Preparation: Collect all ingredients and tools required to make the peanut butter frosting.

Creaming: start by creaming softened unsalted butter until it is light and airy. Use a hand beater with medium speed.

Add Peanut Butter: Add the peanut butter and continue to cream. Both should incorporate well.

Icing Sugar: Sift the icing sugar and gradually add it to the creamed butter. Beat it until the entire sugar dissolves.

Add Milk and Salt: Once the sugar has been incorporated, add milk along with salt to the frosting. Beat the frosting well enough until a smooth, creamy buttercream is ready.

Chef’s Tips For The Recipe

Use Room Temperature Ingredients

Ensure that all the ingredients you are using are at room temperature. Do not use cold ingredients, as they won’t emulsify well.

How To Store Peanut Butter Frosting

Once the frosting is made, use it immediately. Any leftover frosting can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
