Here’s Why You’ll Love This Edible Brownie Batter!
You Can Eat the Batter!: No other recipe can be eaten before it’s completely baked for obvious health reasons. But this brownie batter recipe satisfies the urge to eat the batter just when you are done making it!
Super Easy: This recipe has just eight basic ingredients that are easily available in our pantry, and it hardly takes 15 minutes to complete this recipe!
Tastes Just Like Brownies: If you think it will taste raw, that isn’t true. This brownie batter tastes just like baked brownies – gooey and chocolatey.
Essential Ingredients In Edible Brownie Batter
- Heat-treated flour: If you look at the recipe, every ingredient except all-purpose flour can be consumed raw. And since we are making an edible version of the brownie batter, it is important to use heat-treated all-purpose flour so that you do not face any stomach issues.
- Brown sugar: Using brown sugar in this recipe helps achieve flavor, color, and a fudgy texture, just like baked brownies.
- Melted salted butter: Along with adding fat content and flavor to the batter, melted butter helps us bind everything.
How To Make Edible Brownie Batter
- Melt the butter: In a bowl, take salted butter and completely melt it in the microwave.
- Add both sugars: Once the butter melts, we’ll add both sugars, i.e., castor sugar and brown sugar, and mix.
- Add vanilla essence: Now add in vanilla essence and mix.
- Sift in the flour and cocoa powder: We’ll now sift heat-treated flour and natural cocoa powder into the above mixture and mix. You can watch the heat-treated flour tutorial in our YouTube Edible Cookie Dough recipe.
- Add milk: Now, we’ll add milk to give it a brownie batter-like appearance, and you can add a little bit more batter for a flowy consistency.
- Add chopped chocolate: Lastly, add the chopped dark couverture chocolate and give it a final mix. You can chill the dough before serving if you want to.
Our Edible Brownie Batter is now ready! You can make it fun by topping it with marshmallows, chocolate chips, and nuts!
Chef Tips For The Recipe
Heat-treat the flour well
Make sure you heat-treat the flour well before adding it to the other ingredients to kill all the bacteria and prevent any stomach issues. Once done, let it cool down a bit before using it.
Take your time while mixing butter and sugars.
While mixing both sugars into the melted butter, take your time to mix it well. This will help prevent any grittiness in the batter.
