How do I price my cakes without underselling myself?
I have been taking orders for about a year and I am busy, which everyone treats as good news. But when I sat down last month and actually added up ingredients, gas, packaging, delivery and the hours, I am close to breaking even and in some months below it.
The problem is I priced my first orders for friends, those became my reference prices, and now I do not know how to move without losing the customers I have. How did you actually build a price rather than guessing, and how did you raise prices on existing customers without it becoming awkward?
