Simple Banana Bread

  • 1.5 no. Ripe bananas
  • 75 g Oil
  • 50 g Brown sugar
  • 25 g Castor sugar
  • 30 g Eggs
  • ½ tsp Vanilla essence
  • 145 g All-purpose flour
  • ½ + ¼ tsp Baking powder
  • 2 g Baking soda
  • 1 pinch of Cinnamon powder


  • 50 g Melted dark couverture
  • 10 g Chopped almonds


  1. Prepare a rectangular tin by brushing some oil and placing a piece of butter paper at the bottom.
  2. In a bowl, take peeled bananas and mash them using a fork.
  3. Once the above texture is achieved, add oil, eggs, and vanilla essence to the mashed bananas and mix them. 
  4. Add the sugars, i.e., castor and brown sugar, to the above mixture and mix.
  5. Sift the remaining dry ingredients, i.e., all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon powder, and mix to get a smooth batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared tin and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Once the banana bread reaches room temperature, pour melted dark chocolate over it and sprinkle some chopped almonds.
