As they say, a good menu is the heart of every cafe/restaurant
And after working with cafe owners across India, we can tell that one of the biggest challenges a cafe owner faces is setting the damn menu.
Wondering why that is?
Because we often make the mistake of thinking more is less.
Surely if I have 101 items like Noodles, Sandwiches, Burgers, Pizzas, Pasta, etc. on my menu it will attract more customers and there will be more orders, right?
Guess what, that is not how it works. You will only end up creating a very long and confusing menu without any specialties that set you apart from the cafe next to you.
Not to forget, the high amount of salaries you will be paying to the numerous chefs you hire so each cuisine tastes better (surely you didn’t expect one could do it all now, did you?).
But that’s not the only problem.
Maybe you are a complete newbie and have no clue what to add apart from a few sandwiches and shakes and coffee.
Now, would you really like to go to a cafe that barely serves anything more than some coffee and a few sandwiches daily?
And irrespective of how good the decor or service is, they call the menu the heart for a reason.
So how do you ensure it doesn’t give your new cafe a heart attack?
